Want to beat it? Here are the rules! (What is the shortest pencil?)

We can add to these rules if we want when we want even when your record has been submitted and checked, and even when it is on here!

  • The pencil must be at maximum 5cm long.
  • The measured pencil must be from the end of the led on one side, to the end of the led on the other side.
  • Picture evidence of a RULER that has not been messed with must be measuring the pencil accurately, or a video of you putting the ruler on and measuring it.
  • The picture or video must be close enough to the ruler to be able to see the cm lines, and all the mini lines as well.
  • It must be measured in centimetres.
  • The pencil must only be cut down using a SHARPENER. You may take out the led if you want to, but you can't cut off a bit of the pencil using anything else.
  • The sharpener you use must sharpen the pencil ONLY, and you cannot use the edge to cut it down or anything!
  • A maximum of 1 pencil can be submitted. The record title is 'What is the shortest pencil?', not 'What are the shortest pencils'.
  • A maximum of 5 people can attempt this record.
  • Record breakers must be between the age of 0-25 years of age, and anybody on or over 25 years, 1 day old will be disqualified.
  • The sharpener used must be agreed to be used by us before you can start the record. We don't want any dodgy ones.
  • Sharpeners have to be hand-operated. They cannot be mechanical or be run by robots.
  • The pencil must be sharpened by humans. They must be alive and be able to move when attempting the record.
  • The ruler used must be agreed to be used by us before you can start the record. We don't want ones that measure every two centimetres of pencil into one centimetre!

Thats all the rules for the tic tac record!

If you are caught cheating or not following the above rules exactly, you will be permantely disqualified from attempting this record. In some cases, however, we can let you off!
